Very excited to announce I'll be a part of Arch Enemy Arts Gallery's show "Through Dangers Untold" on February 21, 2014 in Philadelphia, PA!
My darling little Barbershop Quartet was accepted into the fantasy-themed show!
My four-headed winged dragon consists of four unique personalities. Squeedle, Irk, Bop, and Doug, although you’ll never guess which one is Doug. Never will you find a more harmonized quartet, as these talented vocalists share body and soul! A serenade from this special two-legged group is pure magic. We’ve all seen the terror and strength of dragons and multi-headed monsters in plenty of fantasy tales, but the compelling tunes of my Barbershop Quartet overpower them all!
This magical piece was fully sculpted with magic sculpt, and topped off with glass eyes and acrylic paint. This was my practice piece in preparation for my "Golden-Eyed Empress" to see if the glass eyes would enhance or take away from the piece. I ended up loving the glass eyes and am very excited to continue with the idea in the future! I'm happy to say Equesticorn already found a good home where I know they will be loved and appreciated!
As mentioned earlier, due to lack of time I only had time for 2 new pieces for the "Curious Beasts" show. Also included in the "Curious Beasts" show at Clutter Gallery are these 3 little gems from 2013.
Quillbert is a Custom Foomi Head, with real porcupine quills! Quillbert is easily the most challenging piece I have created so far. I'm ashamed at the amount of profanity that left my mouth while sticking those relentless little quills in his back. They are thin and tiny but WOW do they hurt! Once he was fully sculpted, quills and all, the second challenge was to paint him... while keeping the quills unpainted. A long and painful process but it had to be done! I'm very happy with the outcome, I like to think my blood and tears were worth it :)
