Barber Shop Quartet

Meet my talented Barber Shop Quartet:  Squeedle, Irk, Bop, and Doug!  I've been wanting to make a character based on the cute red and white striped barber shop quartet idea for so long, but never felt quite right having it be a solo figure.  It's a quartet for a reason, there should be four members.  I was excited to come up with the idea for "A Monster's Lullaby" to finally create my quartet as a four-headed monster, and i have to admit i love them.

My Barber Shop Quartet is on display at Strychnin Gallery  in Berlin all month for "A Monster's Lullaby" ! A really awesome show in an amazing gallery that i've been so stoked for since October.

ashkore the fire starter

ASHKORE THE FIRE STARTER!! one of my latest commissions! i customized a 4" kracka into this bad boy.  i'm pretty excited about this one, i'm very pleased with how he turned out.  as i was sculpting him, i was worried he wasn't looking like a dragon and started to stress that after so many hours of work, i'd end up with a weird creature that doesn't even resemble a dragon.  or worse, an ugly dragon. that is, until i realized he's a dragon.. my dragon! and my dragon can look however i want him to look. that's when i stopped worrying and had fun with it. love this little guy.

alligouda cheeseborough

meet alligouda cheeseborough! the cheese-obsessed alligator. alligouda enjoys prancing around in his little purple undies. and boy, does he loves his cheese. he can't get enough cheese and loves even more to share it with others... but only those who can truly appreciate some good cheese.

alligouda is a 4" customized kidrobot kracka i made for someone special! i always thought the kracka figure looked like an alligator, but after attempting to turn it into one, i'm not so sure (without any sculpting at least). he kind of looks more like a dinosaur-thing.

blizzy

happy, happy new year! i hope everyone had a lovely new years.  i ended my year and started the new by watching lots of 60's romantic comedies. i also have a newfound love for elvis presley and i am open for any great classic movie suggestions. please. my new obsession has brought me to some fun art ideas, which i'll have to work on in the hopefully near, near future!
this is another custom i did for the holiday season. this is blizzy, the hippo-dino-thing? he loves to play in the snow, but unfortunately for the snow, he also likes to eat it. poor snowflake.

i made blizzy using kidrobot's kracka figure, but i turned the head backwards and worked with it that way. i thought it was a better shape for a wide mouthed kritter.

poor little snowflake. think about him the next time you feel like catching those little tiny delicate snowflakes and melting them on your tongue.

ned finklestein

meet ned finklestein! neddy is my nerdy happy little water buffalo friend.  he knows he's a nerd but wouldn't rather have it any other way. no one is happier than ned finklestein being the nerdy waterbuffalo that he is. forget the whole brains thang, neddy could teach you a lot about life.  like how to balance a stack of books on your head.

international bully's mark.
neddy's handy dandy pocket protector
best friends forever!

ned finklestein is one of my favorites at the moment. ned is a customized kracka (kidrobot).  i love everything about him and did my best to include a ton of fun little details. the details are what make him (and anything.) i painted him far too many times and no matter what i did, mr. finklestein looked like a swedish clog dancer lady or something (but i might have to intentionally make one in the future...) i finally got to the perfect colors and fell in love. the books on his head were originally meant to be an accessory by his side.  once i placed them on his head instead, i knew ned finklestein was complete. AND SO ned finklestein was born!
