frankie's worst nightmare

frankie's worst nightmare
acrylic and spray paint
this is my 2009 halloween painting!! it is going to be shown in a 2-day halloween art show called Trick-Art-Treat!! tomorrow, friday, oct 30 (6-8 pm) to saturday, oct 31 (5-8 pm) at Brave New Worlds in Philly. the show is put on once again by the autumn society ( Halloween is my favorite so i am excited for it.
last year, i went to a wedding on halloween, and a group of us decided to go as the universal monsters, but all dressed formally for the special ocassion. so my halloween painting this year is of timmy and me in our costumes last year. i think the painting needs to be seen in person, you get a better feel for the colors.. the background is matte whereas the figures are more glossy so it has some cool contast to it.
this is our group picture:

halloweeny painting #3 !

another halloweeny zombie painting! this was a commission-- a happy couple as zombies. with zombie cat in the tree. i like this one because the blood splatter flows onto the frame too. it was fun to paint, who doesn't love zombies?

halloweeny painting #2 !! this is a zombie painting i did for my sister as a christmas present. she has a pretty big obsession with zombies. obviously this is more halloween appropriate.

so this is my most favorite time of year: the entire month of october. i devote the whole month to anything and everything halloween related.. especially lots and lots of horror movies.

here is the first halloweeny artwork i'm posting by halloween. it is the painting i did last year for my very special holiday. it is also the very first oil painting i've ever done. nosferatu!

1eg characters

i've apparently been neglecting my blog, but that doesn't mean i haven't been busy with lots of new stuff. here's just a picture for your entertainment of some recent work i've done.. just some characters turned 1eg. you see.. ursula, wizard of oz, cruella de vil, smurfette... and you can hardly see, but a painting full of all my 1eg princesses and a sketch for a bigger drawing (that i just finished tonight) keep an eye out for pictures of both finished works in the future!!

here's the wizard of oz painting i promised a while back. "heel clicker lost in the green urbs".. her red slipper is red glitter and emerald city is green glitter. subtle but i think it enhances it without flowing into cheesy.
