Meet Rhinoceros! Rhinoceros is a commission i did recently for an actual firefighter. He is a custom Kidrobot Bub and i've been playing around with more texture lately. More texture work in the future!

Jellyfish in Space
"Jellyfish in Space" 11"x14" |
This is by far one of my favorite new pieces. I have a thing for jellyfish and i just love the way this one turned out. It's based on a photograph i took at an aquarium in San Francisco over a year ago. It was my second time visiting SF completely by myself, which was terrifying for me. I'm not one to do things alone, so to get on a plane and fly across the country completely on my own was one of the scariest and amazing things i've ever done. I'm independent, but as a paraplegic, long story short, there's a lot of things to worry about and consider. So on my last day there, i had the day to myself and decided to push myself across San Francisco, until i got to the Embarcadaro, where i pushed all the way down until i got to the aquarium. I spent some time there alone quietly taking pretty pictures of peaceful sea creatures. It was amazing and as silly as it is, i was proud and feeling accomplished to have gone that far by myself. Luckily, it wasn't the dangerously hilly part of the city! It was a good day.
This painting was painted for my show "Lemonade Stand" at Trenton Social. To my excitement (and heartache!) she sold!
This is the photo from the aquarium that the painting is based off. I thought it looked like they were in space...

Philip
Meet Philip. Philip is a custom Mini Munny commission done recently for a very special occasion. A groom's gift to his wife on their wedding day. I was really excited to create this for them, to contribute to such a personal and special life event. They have a pet turtle they love that he wanted me to do a figure of. A red-eared slider, which i actually had as a kid so i was even more excited to make this.
A few weeks late, but happy wedding day to the happy couple!
Here is Philip below in his new home, next to the turtle he was modeled after :)

What a Big Eye You Have
"What a Big Eye You Have" 8"x10" |
I present to you the very first Lickyourelbow/One-Eyed Girl collaborative painting!!!
This painting was started over 2 years ago, and i finally finished it. My good friend and artist Bill Hewitt painted the wolf background while i painted the 1EG foreground. It is a 3D painting, with my girl and leaves/grass painted on glass raised about 1/4" above Bill's painted background. The 3D gives it a really neat effect and looks amazing in person.
This lovely piece is still on display and for sale at my show "Lemonade Stand" at Trenton Social for all of November!

Big Bob
"Big Bob" 11"x14" (ish? i forgot to measure...) |
Meet Big Bob. I have been wanting to try doing 3D paintings for quite some time now, so i thought my show at Trenton Social would be a good time to start. This is my very first experiment with 3D paintings. I sculpted part of the fish on a piece of wood and painted. I'm in love with this new style and i can't wait to practice more and develop skills to make some really great pieces.
Big Bob sold at the show's opening night!

Chew on a Dog!
"Chew on a Dog!" One of my new favorites! I tried something new by painting a distorted piece of wood. Thought it fit well with the theme of this painting. A Beetlejuice-inspired 1EG! It was pretty fun to watch Beetlejuice while i painted this one. You'll notice in the bottom photo, the sides are textured. I used Crackle Paste on the sides to give it a crazy cracking look. Love it. She's now on display and for sale at my show "Lemonade Stand" at Trenton Social for all of November. |

I've always loved the sound it makes when you put a conch up to your ear. And i have a big thing for mermaids lately..
