Gruntle

 Meet Gruntle!

Gruntle is a custom Bohna Skully (very awesome design by Blue Frog World).  I'm very excited to announce he will be my very first toy attending Toy Con UK! He will join many other custom Bohna Skully's at the Bohna & Beard Stand at York Hall in London on April 25, 2015.  It's sure to be an amazing booth at an amazing convention, and as usual i wish i could be there in person myself!

Parsons

Meet Parsons!

Commissioned Mini Raffy modeled after a baby giraffe.  This guy was a challenge.  And a really encouraging push into the original sculpting that i'm working towards.  He still has the base of a Raffy, but a very modified version of it.  It was a good way to ease into the original sculpting on a larger scale, which is what i'm most intimidated by.  Very much enjoyed working on this piece and very happy with the outcome.

McDapper

Meet McDapper!
McDapper is clearly a handsome dapper shark. He is a commissioned piece modeled after a Swell Shark.  I used an arm-less munny body as a base, but for the most part is a fully original sculpt with real shark teeth.  I really love making sharks with the real shark teeth.  They're so special to me, however i will no longer be taking shark commissions (aside from one last upcoming piece).  I've done so many. and even though they are all different,  i will not do any more unless it's a truly unique shark to model after (such as a HAMMERHEAD!)

Walricorn Pup

Meet Walricorn Pup!

This little guy stands approx 2" tall and 3" wide.  He is one of my first original sculpts.  During my slow transition from custom toys to original sculpts, i've decided to do at least one small original sculpt per week.  I sculpted this cutie with Super Sculpey, which i am not the biggest fan of.  Since i am trying to do these as small quick exercises, i am use this clay as opposed to Magic Sculpt because i can sculpt all in one sitting, bake it and paint it all within a few hours.  Magic Sculpt cures over time, so i work in layers which takes more time.  Doesn't matter what clay i use, i'm just happy to be creating

Robbity

Meet Robbity!

I am very excited to introduce you all to this handsome little devil, standing approx 3" tall.  I sculpted him after i came back from an All You Can Eat Buffet of delicious sushi and i was as full as could be, so he looks pretty much the way i felt that day.

My goal for my art is to stray away from custom toys and create my own fully original sculpts.  This guy is just the beginning.  I am also looking into doing some original sculpts to cast in Resin for small editions at more affordable prices for collectors.  I'm very excited about these new changes, despite how incredibly intimidating it is!  I created this guy as my very first experiment with Monster Clay (which i will need to do the resin casts).  I decided not to use him for a resin, but i couldn't just destroy his cute chubby belly and bubble butt for no one to enjoy ever again.  So i resculpted him with Magic Sculpt, as a one-off.  Below you'll see a photo of the two sculpts (Monster Clay and Magic Sculpt) side by side.

Very excited to work on my sculpting skills and see where this new direction in my work takes me.

Traveling Trio

Meet the Wandering Trio!

Commissioned Wandering Misfit Inkslinger.  I had much freedom on this to do what i wanted, and i knew i wanted a little critter on the top of his head.  Sticking to the sea creature theme, as requested by the client, i thought a little seahorse would be fun.  And of course why would i leave his back bare when i could put yet another silly character there!?  The whole hobo theme seemed too perfect, especially with that silly half angry-half drunken-half crazed look on the octopus man's face.   Truly enjoyed making this piece.

Bracey

Meet Bracey!

I'm very excited about this piece.  A collaboration with amazing artist Southern Drawl, i used his snail shell design along with a teddy troop, a "Snail Troop" to make this silly little fella.  I had a very different idea when i first approached this piece but i'm very happy i went in the direction i did.  Now i want to make tons of happy or even sad pieces with giant teeth!

Out to Sea

"Out to Sea"

My brand new board for the latest Artists on Board Show with Art Deck Company.  ArtDeckCo brought 400+ boards designed and painted by different artists from around the world to the Salt Lake City Tattoo Convention this past weekend.  I was very excited to be a part of this and hope attendees enjoyed my pretty lady.

Below are some close ups and some photos from the convention.  Always excited to see photos of the shows i can't see in person :)
